May 1, 2013

ALTER BRIDGE has commenced recording its fourth studio album for a tentative September release.

Commented the band in a post on its web site: "We are pleased to announce that recording has begun on our fourth studio album. First up to record is Scott 'Flip' Phillips on the drums.

"Stay tuned and we'll update you on the progress as time allows."

ALTER BRIDGE's last studio offering, "AB III", came out in 2010 and included the hits "Isolation" and "Ghost Of Days Gone By".

As previously reported, ALTER BRIDGE plans to release a new box set on May 14. The pacakge will feature a whopping 16 discs, previously unreleased interviews with bandmembers Myles Kennedy, Mark Tremonti, Scott Phillips and Brian Marshall, a coffee table book, autographed poster, exclusive photos and more. Further info can be found at AlterBridgeBoxSet.com.

During ALTER BRIDGE's break, Tremonti recorded his first solo album, "All I Was", and toured behind it, while Kennedy recorded all the vocals for Slash's second solo effort, "Apocalyptic Love", and toured the world as part of his live band.

Tremonti, Marshall and Phillips have also toured as part of their original act, CREED, who have also been working on new material.
