AMBERIAN DAWN's Next Album To Feature Guest Appearance By Professional Opera Singer
February 26, 2010Finnish female-fronted symphonic metallers AMBERIAN DAWN entered the studio on November 23, 2009 in Hyvinkää, Finland to begin recording its new album for a late spring release.
Commented the band: "We are proud to announce that professional opera singer, baritone Markus Nieminen is going to [guest] on our next album. Markus has been singing for the Vienna State Opera, Hamburg State Opera, Sempreoper in Dresden, opera houses in Basil and St. Gallen and in Volksopera, Vienna.
"AMBERIAN DAWN likes to experiment with different kinds of styles of music. So, on the next album, there's going to be one classical piece (a walz) on which Heidi's [Parviainen, AMBERIAN DAWN singer] going to duet with Markus.
"We are expecting the most special and stunning song so far."
According to the band, "The new album is going to be more diverse, faster and darker than our previous albums. The fastest AMBERIAN DAWN songs to date contrast some extremely slow and heavy songs."
AMBERIAN DAWN last year completed a European tour as the support band for EPICA. Also appearing on the bill was SONS OF SEASONS, the new progressive/symphonic metal band led by keyboardist/guitarist Oliver Palotai (KAMELOT, DORO).
AMBERIAN DAWN's second album, "The Clouds of Northland Thunder" was released in Europe on June 29, 2009 via Ascendance Records.
AMBERIAN DAWN guitarist Tuomas Seppälä, who has played the keyboards in the studio on the band's albums, in 2009 became the group's full-time keyboardist. The new AMBERIAN DAWN axeman is Emil Pohjalainen, who is described as "a talented shredder from Finland."
