AMEN Announce U.K. Tour, Reveal New Lineup

AMEN have announced a headlining tour of the U.K. in May/June. Confirmed dates are as follows:

Commented the band in a statement posted on their web site: "So it's time for the world's most hated band to return to the U.K. We'd like to take this opportunity to introduce the new lineup and talk about our intentions for the dates we have set up, as well as your mother....

"Due to popular demand, this will be The Total Anti-Festival Enviornment. We turned down the option of playing larger venues and will start it off proper, at a public toilet.

"We have all been working very hard to revive some songs that haven't been played in a while, or have never been played live at all. Here is a list of the songs we are working on at the moment.

"B-sides, unreleased shit, new songs and 'Pisstory' tracks, it's all there. If you don't see something on the list that you wanna hear, let us know. Also, keep checking back here, because we're gonna figure out a way for people to pick the songs for the set list for each city we play in. The set will be different every night.

"We are planning on touring the rest of Europe as well as Russia, Japan and Australia, but are having a hard time finding promoters to support the cause. Anyone that has been messaging Casey, posting on our message board, messaging us on myspace or otherwise requesting to see the band, make your voice heard... put your energy toward contacting venues and promoters and DEMAND that they book the band. This band has been voted the BEST LIVE BAND IN THE WORLD on numerous occassions by many reputable magazines. AMEN may not sell as many CDs as fuckin CRAZY TOWN or Britney Spears (who fucked Shifty and the boys in Chaos' bathroom by the way),but AMEN has never had any problem drawing people to venues anywhere in the world when properly promoted.

"We are planning on carrying out the tour into the rest of the world and would like to play some actual festivals along the way, but due to the band's reputation preceeding itself (welcome to the jungle, baby!),we tend to run into problems. This is not, never has been, and never will be a safe band, and that is no secret to the rest of the world. So anyone who can help the band (managers, prommoters, agents, and record labels) is urged to contact the band at [email protected]... ACT NOW!!!!!!!!

"We are in the process of writing new material for the new record... We don't care if that means we have to make grim cassette tapes on an elite four-track. We make music, not money, and that is exactly what we will do. As for this tour, we have no tour support. We are using the money that we are making from the shows to fund the tour, which probably means we will come back with an even bigger debt than we have now, but that is OK. We are a working-class American band ... PAY TO PLAY, not GET PAID to PLAY.

"One thing to be said about this band, and has been said many times before, is that it is not an easy band to be in. In fact, it's probably the hardest band to be in. It's not a fairy tale, it's real life. Everyone that is here or has ever been here to work with Casey on AMEN, has to be here for the right reasons. If they aren't, eventually their true colors show. THIS IS NOT A SAFE THING. PUNK IS PROFIT. ADDICTION IS FREEDOM. WORDS-ACTION=SHIT. Like it or not, THE SPIRIT OF WHAT AMEN IS WILL NEVER CHANGE.
