March 29, 2008According to Metalfan.ro, ANATHEMA masterminds Vincent and Danny Cavanagh will perform an acoustic show in Bucharest, Romania, on May 24. They will be joined by cello player David Wesling for the concert, which is being promoted by the Artmania Foundation, which also produces the Artmania festival.
Vincent and Danny Cavanagh, along with former ANATHEMA bassist Duncan Patterson, performed an "unplugged" set at last year's Artmania festival in Sibiu, Romania. Video footage of the song "Temporary Peace" from the 2007 concert can be viewed below.
ANATHEMA recently announced plans to release two albums this year. According to the band, "[The] first record is a semi-acoustic recording of many of our most loved older tracks. This will be released on Peaceville Records. The working title is 'Temporary Peace'.
"In late winter/early spring, immediately following the recording of this semi-acoustic album, we will enter a studio to record the next full-length ANATHEMA album, which be produced by ANATHEMA and mixed by Steven Wilson, independently from a record company. Upon completion, the new album will be licensed around the world, giving us artistic and creative control and keeping the rights to the music in our own hands."
A brand new ANATHEMA song entitled "Angels Walk Among Us" is available for download at this location (MP3, 18 MB).
