ANDREW W.K. Begins Mixing New Album

May 17, 2003

ANDREW W.K. has wrapped up the recording of his new CD and has moved the whole operation across to California to begin mixing the effort for a tentative August/September release through Island DefJam Records.

"The mixing is like the salted creamed hotel bar butter at the end of the drink portion and the start of the real meal!" Andrew said. "It's so much fun, like a pure reward and a labor of love!"

Between 10 and 25 songs were reportedly recorded for the forthcoming album, including "Violent Life", "Never Ending Party", "Close Calls With Brick Walls", "Kicks and Bricks", "Addicted to Life", and "I Am Totally Stupid".

In addition to the upcoming CD, ANDREW W.K. has plans to release a new DVD at the end of 2003 or in early 2004. "I'm working on that right now... it might be a little while, you know, a few months, but is in the works," he recently said. "It's going to be a lot of cool stuff: songs and live concerts and weird crazy stuff and piano banging and raging and slamming - you know how I do it! So all I can say is keep your eye peeled back your ear wide open and your back bone cracking and the DVD will come someday!"
