ANDROMEDA: Release Dates Announced For 'Playing Off The Board' DVD

March 5, 2007

Swedish progressive metal band ANDROMEDA will release its live DVD, "Playing off the Board", in Europe on March 19 and in North America on April 24. The disc was filmed on October 31, 2006 at the Wyspianski Theater in Katowice, Poland. ANDROMEDA's setlist concentrated on the band's "Chimera" album but also included tracks from older efforts — "Extension of the Wish" and "II=I".

Commented the band: "We are all very excited about this release, [as] we have put our hearts and souls into its creation. It's full to the brim with stuff to dig your teeth into. The concert was professionally filmed in an old theatre in Poland this fall and it looks and sounds awesome. There are loads cool of bonus material, stuff we filmed on tour, pictures, interviews etc. Don't miss it!"

ANDROMEDA recently finished recording the drums for its fourth, as-yet-untitled album. "Yet again at a record breaking pace, Thomas Lejon nailed the nine new tracks in just a couple of days," the group wrote on its web site in January. "As on the previous two albums, keyboard player Martin Hedin is recording and producing."

ANDROMEDA filmed a video for the song "In the End" last year. The track comes off the band's latest CD, "Chimera", which was released in June 2006 via Massacre Records.

"Chimera" was produced by Martin Hedin in Sweden between March 2004 and January 2005 and features artwork by Niklas Sundin (DARK TRANQUILLITY).
