ANDY SCOTT's SWEET To Release New Live Album 'Live 25' In October

Metalville has set an October 23 international release date for SWEET's new live album "Live 25".

With "Full Circle" (2024),the rock institution SWEET released an album that critics and fans around the world considered to be their strongest album since "Level Headed" (1978),the last album recorded by the four original band members. "Full Circle" was also the band's first Top 20 entry in the German album charts since the release of the 1978 classic.

With such a strong album under their belt, it was only natural for the band, led by founding member Andy Scott, to present the new songs live. The album "Live 25" is now ready for release. Alongside tracks from "Full Circle", the band performed all the classics hits plus a few heavy rock tracks that had rarely made it on to the setlist in previous years.

The current SWEET lineup has proved to be the perfect team. The sound and dynamics of the band live carries the audience on a magic carpet ride of pure emotion.

Formed in the United Kingdom in 1968, the original SWEET lineup featured Brian Connolly on lead vocals and Steve Priest on bass and backing vocals, drummer Mick Tucker and guitarist Frank Torpey, who was succeeded by Mick Stewart and, later, by Andy Scott. Priest relocated to Los Angeles and, in January 2008, launched a new incarnation of SWEET. Before he died, Priest had the right to use the SWEET name in the U.S. and Canada, whereas Andy Scott toured a version of the group in the U.K. The pair were estranged for decades, but resumed contact in the 2010s.

After the passing of Connelly (in 1997) and Tucker (in 2002),Priest carried on the SWEET moniker with a fresh American lineup that he felt possessed the talent, feel and high energy of classic SWEET. Priest's lineup was embraced by the fans, playing hundreds of concerts across the United States, Canada, South America, Europe, and many other countries around the world for well over a decade until Priest himself passed away in 2020. Shortly after, it was decided that Priest's version of THE SWEET should continue onward — currently with a lineup consisting of frontman Ariel Kamin, guitarist Jimmy Burkard, keyboardist Dave Schulz, bassist Stevie Stewart and drummer Richie Onori — as they were asked to carry on by Priest.

The U.S. version of THE SWEET — which is not to be confused with Andy Scott's version — has released three singles in the last couple of years: "Little Miracle" in 2024, "Insane" in 2025, and "Sweet Dream" — a song that has been in the group archives and on which Steve Priest wrote and played bass and sang — in February 2026.

Andy Scott's SWEET will return for "The Final Blitz Tour" of Australia in October and November 2026.
