ANGEL Frontman Shoots Down Reunion Rumors
September 23, 2008Get Ready To Roll! recently interviewed singer Frank DiMino of '70s rock group ANGEL where he discussed the reissue of the band's third album, "On Earth As It Is In Heaven", Gene Simmons and Frank Zappa. He was also asked about the rumors that keyboardist Gregg Giuffria might be rejoining the band for at least one reunion gig in 2009. "The rumors are false," DiMino replied. "I did a live interview with Eddie Trunk in early September and told him that I recently spoke with [guitarist] Punky Meadows. Punky said he'd like to get together with everyone again, however he was referring to a 'social gathering of friends' — NOT a band reunion. The next day on the Internet there were postings that ANGEL was reforming with the original lineup. That is simply not true."

Though the original band split up in 1980, DiMino and original drummer Barry Brandt picked up the pace again in 1995 and eventually released a new ANGEL album, "In the Beginning", which featured guest appearances by Meadows and Felix Robinson, the band's bass player from 1977 to 1980. Brandt and DiMino have continued to perform under the ANGEL moniker ever since.
ANGEL last month had "On Earth As It Is In Heaven" reissued as a "limited edition" by Lovember Records. Long out of print and very hard to find, this reissue has been digitally remastered and includes a 16-page booklet with liner notes by journalist Dave Reynolds (Classic Rock, Kerrang!),a track-by-track run down by singer Frank DiMino, all lyrics, and unreleased photos… making for a sought-after collector's item.
Originally released in 1977 and produced by legend Eddie Kramer (KISS, JIMI HENDRIX),this album features the rock classics "Can You Feel It", "On The Rocks", "Telephone Exchange", and "White Lightning".
