ANGEL To Be Featured On 'Podshow Radio Network'
September 22, 2008'70s rock group ANGEL will be the featured 'Artist of The Week" starting Saturday, September 27 on the Podshow Radio Network as well as other syndicated outlets. Listen at www.podshowradio.com.
ANGEL singer Frank DiMino revealed during an appearance on the September 8, 2008 edition of the "Eddie Trunk Live" show on XM 41 The Boneyard that he recently talked to Gregg Giuffria (keyboards) and Punky Meadows (guitar) about getting the original band together for at least one reunion gig in 2009. Apparently there is some interest from Japan in the reunited five-piece band.
The entire interview can be downloaded as an MP3 audio file at this location.
Though the original band split up in 1980, DiMino and original drummer Barry Brandt picked up the pace again in 1995 and eventually released a new ANGEL album, "In the Beginning", which featured guest appearances by Meadows and Felix Robinson, the band's bass player from 1977 to 1980. Brandt and DiMino have continued to perform under the ANGEL moniker ever since.
ANGEL last month had its third album, "On Earth As It Is In Heaven", reissued as a "limited edition" by Lovember Records. Long out of print and very hard to find, this reissue has been digitally remastered and includes a 16-page booklet with liner notes by journalist Dave Reynolds (Classic Rock, Kerrang!),a track-by-track run down by singer Frank DiMino, all lyrics, and unreleased photos… making for a sought-after collector's item.
Originally released in 1977 and produced by legend Eddie Kramer (KISS, JIMI HENDRIX),this album features the rock classics "Can You Feel It", "On The Rocks", "Telephone Exchange", and "White Lightning".
