ANGER AS ART Parts Ways With Guitarist, Drummer

April 22, 2009

Los Angeles thrashers ANGER AS ART have parted ways with guitarist William Rustrum and drummer Dave Chedrick. Vocalist/guitarist Steve Gaines states, "There is no ill will or shitstorm. We all knew the chemistry wasn't right. We wish them the best with whatever other projects they do."

He adds, "On drums, Rob Alaniz (my ABATTOIR bandmate — also from EVIL DEAD, WINTERTHRALL, and many others) will assume duties. Anyone who knows metal knows what a monster this guy is. To have him agree to play on the new [ANGER AS ART] album is amazing. Beyond the record? Who knows? I see it like this — it is a lot like Simon Phillips playing on PRIEST's 'Sin After Sin' album (yeah, he is that good). Any tour dates will depend on schedules. Rob just released a new CD with WINTERTHRALL that is mind-blowing and he will definitely be on the road in support of it. We haven't discussed anything beyond the recording… but we will cross that bridge later.

"What about the new guitarist? At the very least, we have commitments from my pal Sin from MINISTRY/REVOLTING COCKS who has offered to lay down some solos… as well as Larry Farkas, Angelo's ONCE DEAD/VENGEANCE RISING bandmate. We have our eye on a guy you are all familiar with — we will meet with him upon return from the ABA-tour. The fact is — I do not want to audition anyone. I want to be able to pick our player — provided he/she understands what ANGER AS ART is and is not. Think you do? Maybe you should contact us."

ANGER AS ART will enter the studio in May to begin recording its new album, "Disfigure", tentatively due this summer via Old School Metal Records. The CD will once again be produced and mixed by Chris Trent.

Songtitles set to appear on the album include:

* Crush
* Appease An Angry God
* Master Becomes The Slave
* Feels Like Blood
* Disfigure
* They All Fall Down
* Live In Fear
* New Breed Of Violence
* I Am Your Enemy

ANGER AS ART's last album, "Callous and Furor", was released on October 31, 2006 via Old School Metal Records.
