ANGUS KHAN To Release 'Black Leather Soul' In July

June 25, 2009

Described by band member Dirty-D (vocals) as "ass kicking, face-melting, blistering hard rock with dashes of punk 'tude and glam flashiness," ANGUS KHAN's first studio album, "Black Leather Soul" (to be released on July 28, 2009 via Nickel and Dime Records) will be a breath of fresh air to lovers of KISS, AEROSMITH, AC/DC and good ol' fashioned biker rock.

Produced by the group's own Bruce Duff (guitar) and Frank Meyer (guitar) under their production team name Messiaz (PRIMA DONNA, THE LADYKILLERS, EDDIE SPAGHETTI),"Black Leather Soul" was recorded within six months of the band's formation. Songs like "Big Balls", "Hot Pants", "Chainsaw Betty" and "Black Leather Soul", which had already been written when the band was formed, were brought to the table and ANGUS KHAN-ified by all the members of this new supergroup. According to the band's Dino Everett (bass),"Having guitarists mix your album results in something not-too-shocking — LOUD GUITARS!"

Perfectly placed is the album's first track, "Midnight Moses", which much like the story of the band, has a long intro that sees a steady addition of instruments while building momentum into a powerful collaboration. The tracks that follow keep the energy up with Andy Baker's driving drum beats and harmony guitar riffs by the group's two guitarists. Title track, "Black Leather Soul", begins with a bassline that will keep your fists pumping as it leads the rest of the group through the rhythm of the entire song. Topping it all off is the vocal performance of Dirty-D, who you could spend a lifetime trying to sound like but will end up only with sore vocal cords.

No strangers to the business or the recording process, ANGUS KHAN is made up of members of B-MOVIE RATS, THE STREETWALKIN' CHEETAHS, ADZ and JESTERS OF DESTINY.
