ANIMA Signs With METAL BLADE RECORDS

February 5, 2008

Metal Blade Records has announced the signing of the German extreme metal outfit ANIMA. The group will enter the studio in the spring to record its debut album for a late summer release.

Comments Metal Blade A&R representative Andreas Reissnauer: "ANIMA is one of the most promising bands to rise from the European underground. Considering the quality of their songs it's hard to believe all the band members are just between 16 and 19 years old."

Added the band: "We are over the moon and still can't believe we are under contract with Metal Blade Records. It's a huge honor and we hope that our collaboration will be of long continuance. We have reached one of our biggest goals and would like to thank everyone who supported us so far”

ANIMA formed in the summer of 2005 under the name of METMACHINES before renaming itself TODAY HEAVEN'S DYING and eventually settling on the ANIMA moniker. The band completed its debut CD, "Souls of the Decedents", in the summer of 2006 at 138 Studios in Ellrich. This was followed by the recording sessions for "The Daily Grind" mini-CD in the fall of 2007 at Slaughter's Palace and Rape of Harmonies studios, but this effort was never released.

ANIMA is:

Robert Horn - Vocals
Justin Schüler - Bass
Steven Holl - Guitar
André Steinmann - Guitar
Benjamin Kühnemund - Drums

Check out a few songs from the unreleased "The Daily Grind" mini-CD on the band's MySpace page.
