ANNIHILATOR: Bassist RUSS BERGQUIST To Rejoin Band For European Tour

March 14, 2006

Former ANNIHILATOR bassist Russ Bergquist, who was in the band between 1999 and 2003, will be rejoining the group for their European summer tour, according to a posting on ANNIHILATOR's official web site.

Commented Bergquist: "A few years back, I left the band to pursue other things. I started a family, recorded a bunch of my own material, did some session work and moved to Europe where I also play with DUSKMACHINE. Jeff [Waters, ANNIHILATOR mainman] asked me to come out and tour this summer and sent me a copy of 'Schizo Deluxe'; a kick-ass album. So, I cannot wait to get out and lay down some ANNIHILATOR bass and jam out with my fellow Canadians. Playing with ANNIHILATOR was always a good time so I look forward to doing it again. Cheers and see you this summer!"

A new clip of the song "Battered" (from ANNIHILATOR's 2001 release "Carnival Diablos"),recorded live in Athens, Greece and featuring Bergquist and former vocalist Joe Comeau, has been posted online at this location.

ANNIHILATOR have just issued a retrospective double-disc DVD set, entitled "Ten Years in Hell", via SPV. The set contains seven classic, official ANNIHILATOR music videos, offstage band footage and bonus underground, fan-shot, live performances and a special interview with Waters as he recounts his memories of the band's "first ten years in Hell." Also included are special appearances by original co-lyricist John Bates, "Neverland" frontman Coburn Pharr, "Criteria" bassist Russell Bergquist, and "Set the World on Fire"'s Mike Mangini and Neil Goldberg.
