ANONYMUS Part Ways With Guitarist/Vocalist MARCO CALLIARI

March 28, 2006

Quebec-based metallers ANONYMUS have parted ways with guitarist/vocalist Marco Calliari. The group's official statement on the matter reads as follows:

"After more than 600 concerts, five albums, nine videos, unforgettable tours, after shows worth of mention and thousands of kilometers traveled together, it's with great sadness but by common accord that ANONYMUS and founding member Marco Calliari are now parting ways. The guitarist/singer was a member of the group for the last 17 years.

"Those who have been following ANONYMUS's forward progressions know that since 2004, Marco Calliari has been leading a successful solo career. After a few years of alternating between both projects and considering the importance of Marco's involvement towards ANONYMUS, the band realized that it was in the best interest of the group to make this very painful decision. It's been the most difficult decision presented to us since the beginning of our career. We feel that with Marco's solo career, the group was not moving forward at regular speed and numerous scheduling conflicts would arise. The group would like to emphasize that this situation was handled amicably and with the utmost respect for each other. Despite everything, we remain in good terms. Yes, the wound is still open but we feel that it's in the best interest of the group. We sincerely hope that Marco's career develops like he desires and we wish him the best of luck.

"For ANONYMUS, future projects remain unchanged. The new album is in pre-production and is scheduled for a fall 2006 release. It's with great determination and enthusiasm that Carlos Araya, Daniel Souto and Oscar Souto are writing material for the new album which will be produced by journeyman producer Jean-François Dagenais of KATAKLYSM. Studio dates are scheduled for July. In the meantime the group will perform a few concerts in May and notably the 19th at The Foufounes Électriques in Montreal."
