ANTHRAX Bassist To Judge 'The Next Big Metal Band' Competition

ANTHRAX bassist Frank Bello will serve as one of the "celebrity" judges at the J&R-sponsored competition "The Next Big Metal Band" this Saturday, April 9 in downtown Manhattan at J&R Music (23 Park Row in New York City, across from City Hall Park). Asian metalists FIRESIGN will face off against two other local bands and will perform a couple of new songs at the event. FIRESIGN is scheduled to go on stage at 3:00 p.m.

FIRESIGN is a Japanese indie rock band originally formed in 1998 by its lead vocalist, Aya, as a vehicle to promote her music and poetry. Since then, FIRESIGN has been host to a menagerie of musical misfits. The most notable of these is FIRESIGN's current bassist, Masaki Yamada, formerly of EZO and LOUDNESS.

FIRESIGN is currently working on its second LP.
