ANTHRAX Deny Leaving Fans Hanging At Ill-Fated Swedish Concert

April 22, 2006

ANTHRAX have posted the following message on their web site regarding their ill-fated April 19 concert in Gothenburg, Sweden, which had to be called off after only half a song due to a power failure:

"There has been some bullshit floating around about the [Gothenburg] show saying that the band just took off and left everyone hanging. That is totally false. Yes, it took 45 minutes to make the call on canceling the show as we were trying everything humanly possible to fix the problem and let the show go on. The band even went to the barricade and signed autographs for everyone to make the best of a bad situation. It's not a show, but we did all we could. We'll be back (with a Fusion reactor) and make it up to all our Swedish fans."

As previously reporte, Tony of TonyBoyGallery.com has provided BLABBERMOUTH.NET with a link to a three-minute video clip and photos from ANTHRAX's Gothenburg concert. "On the video you'll see the intro and a little bit of the first song, 'Among the Living', until the power went dead," said Tony. "You'll also hear the promoter's first announcement that the problem will be solved shortly. There's also several pictures of the fan showing his penis [as a protest against the concert cancellation]. There's also a picture of the drummer of BEYOND FEAR who said that the electrical problems had been going on all day."
