ANTHRAX Guitarist Opening Rock Venue In New York City

According to the New York Post, ANTHRAX guitarist Scott Ian is teaming up with club owner Mike Diamond, who started Snitch, Pangaea and Vela, to open a rock venue in Chelsea on Halloween called Retox. CYPRESS HILL is scheduled to play opening night, and Ian is slated to perform with the band FIVE FOR FIGHTING some time in November.

Scott Ian is scheduled to take part in the next Rock 'n Roll Fantasy Camp (RRFC),which will take place in Los Angeles Feb. 15-19, 2007 (President's Day weekend). Other musicians slated to participate include Paul Stanley (KISS),Mickey Hart (GRATEFUL DEAD),Bret Michaels (POISON),Steve Vai and Jane Wiedlin (GO-GO'S).

ANTHRAX is expected to release a new studio album in 2007 — the group's first since the reunion of the classic "Among the Living" lineup (featuring vocalist Joey Belladonna and guitarist Dan Spitz).
