ANTHRAX Singer Is 'Really Psyched' About Touring With MEGADETH, SLAYER

Michael Lello of Weekender recently conducted an interview with ANTHRAX singer Joey Belladonna. A couple of excerpts from the chat follow below.

On sharing the stage with MEGADETH and SLAYER as part of the Jägermeister Music Tour:

"I'm really psyched. It's a good metal evening, totally a nice package. Every (band) is different in their own way, too. No one's like one another. Even though it's all metal, we have our own styles."

On whether any hurt feelings that needed to be repaired in order for him to accept ANTHRAX's offer to rejoin this time:

"It's a business, so you try to put everything together so it's done equally and fair enough, just so you have a grip on what's going on. Mainly, the thing is not about bad feelings or anger amongst each other — it's never been that kind of way. It's been their show since I joined (in 1985),and I just want to make everything clear. Hopefully it's stuff that they dig doing, too, and not just, 'Hey, let's get the guy back, what the hell, we have everything else.' I don't think it's been that right now, and hopefully it's sincere. We have good management now that's been heading it off to make it right, so it makes sense."

On working on new ANTHRAX music that was originally intended for the unreleased 2009 album "Worship Music":

"I have some songs here, and I've worked on one already. We've actually recorded on one already; whether we use the track as I sang it or we do it over, it seemed to be pretty cool. It's kinda new, kinda old-type of vibe, a bit of both."

On touring with PUBLIC ENEMY after a 1991 collaboration on the song "Bring The Noise":

“I think it was cool. I'm glad to have been a part of it. I had a blast. Flav cracked me up every night, and just hangin' with those guys and having them join us on stage, and waiting for that song to come up at the end, it was really, really cool."
