ANVIL Documentary Honored At CHICAGO INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL
October 27, 2008"Anvil! The Story of Anvil" — a mockumentary-like true account of fiftysomething Canadian heavy-metal practitioners Steve "Lips" Kudlow and Robb Reiner who, after a desultory European tour with their band ANVIL, decide to record a 13th album in a final attempt to fulfill their boyhead dreams of stardom —has won another award: the Silver Hugo Award - Docufest competition at the 2008 Chicago International Film Festival.
Sarah Brown, wife of British Prime Minister Gordon Brown, attended the London, England premier of "Anvil! The Story of Anvil" on October 21 at The Times BFI 52nd London Film Festival.
Organizers of the event said that Mrs. Brown's brother Sean Macaulay was involved in making the film, according to Metro.co.uk.
Keanu Reeves, the actor best known for his portrayal of Neo in the action film trilogy "The Matrix", Ted Logan in "Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure" and "Bill and Ted's Bogus Journey" and Officer Jack Traven in "Speed", presented the movie premier as a favor to his friend Sacha Gervasi, who made the film.
