September 22, 2008

Swedish/German extreme metallers ARCH ENEMY have confirmed the following dates across Germany, Netherlands and Switzerland:

Dec. 12 - NL, Uden @ De Pul
Dec. 15 - CH, Pratteln @ Z7
Dec. 17 - D, Ludwigsburg @ Rockfabrik
Dec. 18 - D, Aschaffenburg @ Colos-Saal
Dec. 19 - D, Bad Arolsen @ Outback

ARCH ENEMY has also been confirmed to perform at DORO's "25 Years in Rock" anniversary event on December 13, 2008 at the ISS Dome in Düsseldorf, Germany. Also scheduled to appear are LEAVES' EYES and former NIGHTWISH singer Tarja Turunen, among others.

Commented ARCH ENEMY vocalist Angela Gossow: "I know we haven’t paid enough attention to my home country Germany on the recent tours — I have had this in the back of my head all year long and I am actually almost a centimetre shorter from carrying the heavy feeling of guilt and regret, ha ha. Seriously, I am so happy we managed to pull this effective little tour together and leave a deep cut of fiery metal in the hopefully snowy white landscape of Deutschland and Switzerland in December! Starting the tour in a coffee shop in Holland ain't too bad either. I promise you a healthy dose of ARCH ENEMY will help you survive Christmas a lot better! See you all!"

ARCH ENEMY has been confirmed for next year's Dubai Desert Rock 2009, set to take place March 6-7, 2009 at Dubai Festival City, United Arab Emirates. The festival, which will take place at Dubai Festival City, will also feature Cleveland, Ohio metallers CHIMAIRA and the Swedish progressive metal band OPETH. A spokesperson for the festival organizers, Lara from Center Stage Management (CSM),stated, "We are focusing on adding great hard-hitting metal bands for the first day, following the trend of the previous years. We want this year to be the heaviest yet."

More bands are expected to be announced in the coming months, including the headliners. CSM is also holding the "United We Rock" event which will give the opportunity for a band from the Middle East to perform at next year's With Full Force festival in Germany.
