ARCH ENEMY's ERLANDSSON Reports On First-Ever Drum Clinic In Japan

September 19, 2008

ARCH ENEMY drummer Daniel Erlandsson took part in his first-ever drum clinic in Japan on August 24 at Shizuoka City Oh-igawa-cho Hall. He has issued the following report:

"I was invited to play at this year's Summer Drum School which, by the way, was held for the 29th time. It's a three-day event where students come to attend lessons, seminars and of course to have fun! A lot of influential and international players have performed there over the years such as Mike Mangini, Dennis Chambers and many more. However this was the first time they invited a metal drummer with a bit more of a caveman approach to playing…."

ARCH ENEMY has been confirmed for next year's Dubai Desert Rock 2009, set to take place March 6-7, 2009 at Dubai Festival City, United Arab Emirates. The festival, which will take place at Dubai Festival City, will also feature Cleveland, Ohio metallers CHIMAIRA and the Swedish progressive metal band OPETH. A spokesperson for the festival organizers, Lara from Center Stage Management (CSM),stated, "We are focusing on adding great hard-hitting metal bands for the first day, following the trend of the previous years. We want this year to be the heaviest yet."

More bands are expected to be announced in the coming months, including the headliners. CSM is also holding the "United We Rock" event which will give the opportunity for a band from the Middle East to perform at next year's With Full Force festival in Germany.
