After touring relentlessly over the past year with the likes of AMEN, NEVERMORE, IN FLAMES, KING DIAMOND, GLASSJAW, NOTHINGFACE, PROFESSIONAL MURDER MUSIC and numerous other metal and hardcore acts, Century Media Records recording artist SHADOWS FALL is pulling out of their upcoming tour with OPETH and AMORPHIS to direct their full attention to writing and recording their follow-up to last year's acclaimed Of One Blood.
'We've been on the road so long and have come up with so many great ideas along the way that we felt we should take some time off to piece these songs together while they're still fresh and the momentum is still in our favor,' said vocalist Brian Fair. 'We've been looking forward to sharing a stage with OPETH and AMORPHIS all year, but we just don't feel we have it in us to perform at the level we need to satisfy our fans and ourselves.'
In the wake of what has already been a grueling 2001 touring schedule, the decision was made after lengthy discussions between management, the label and the members of the band. SHADOWS FALL is still committed to performing at the New England and New Jersey Metalfests in April and are looking forward to the final shows on the current tour with AMEN and GOD FORBID.
'We're thrilled to be a part of the Metalfests again this year and are looking forward to hanging out with all our friends and fans before we get down to the business of creating new music,' explained Fair. 'We are convinced it's in everyone's best interest that we move ahead and to continue to develop our sound. A new record is just the kind of recharging we need right now before we hit the road again, more powerful than ever.'
'On behalf of the SHADOWS FALL family, the band would like to thank everyone who has been so supportive throughout our touring this year,' continued Fair. 'We guarantee we will deliver a killer new album and start performing again as soon as we possibly can.'
