Yngwie Malmsteen and his wife April their left home in Miami on Saturday for Stockholm, Sweden, where Yngwie will begin the European segment of his WAR tour. Yngwie's touring band — consisting of vocalist Mark Boals, keyboardist Mats Olausson, bassist Randy Coven, and drummer Tim Donahue — took off from Miami today to join him for Tuesday's concert in Stockholm.


WISDOM CALL, the side project of NARNIA singer Christian Liljegren, will release their debut album on May 21st through Massacre Records. Featuring a sound that is being described as a mix of NARNIA and HAMMERFALL, the album will include the following tracks:

BACKYARD BABIES will have its May 3rd show from Stockholm (Kägelbanan) broadcast live via the band's web site: www.backyardbabies.com. The show time is set at 9:30 pm CET (12:30 pm Los Angeles, 3:30 pm New York &amp 8:30 pm UK).


In the wake of the Dynamo Open Air Festival cancellation, SOULFLY have arranged a gig at 't Podium in Hardenberg, Holland on Sunday May 27th. Tickets go on sale on May 1st.


Sweden's THE PROJECT HATE MCMXCIX, featuring ENTOMBED bassist Jorgen Sandstrom, will have its second album, When We Are Done...Your Flesh Will Be Ours, released in mid-June/early July through Massacre Records.


The UK's BUSH have officially parted ways with Trauma Records and have signed a new deal with the Atlantic label. The band is currently working on its fourth album with producer Dave Sardy, and expect to have the CD ready for release in September.


V.O.D. (VISION OF DISORDER) will be supporting SLAYER on June 14th, 15th and 16th at as-yet-unspecified venues. More information will come shortly.

Norway's DERIDE have signed with The Music CartelRecords and will have their debut CD, Scars Of Time, released in the US on June 12th. Featuring a sound that is said to appeal to fans of PANTERA, FEAR FACTORY and SLIPKNOT, DERIDE reportedly 'pushes the boundaries of both extreme metal and more melodic rock by combining the two elements in a very unique way'. Brazil's SHAMAN, the new band of former ANGRA members Andre Matos (vocals),Luis Mariutti (bass) and Ricardo Confessori (guitar),played their much-anticipated debut concert in the group's hometown of Sao Paulo on April 21st. Ireland's CRUACHAN are seeking a keyboard player to replace guest keyboardist Dennis, who apparently has too many other projects to commit to touring with the band. CRUACHAN are planning on doing a full European tour in October/November, following the release of their brand new studio album through Hammerheart Records.


Sweden's RUNEMAGICK are still looking for a new label home following their split with Century Media Records earlier this year. According to the band, 'we have got some offers, but have not decided [on which company to sign with] yet. We will check a few more labels before we sign anything. Hopefully we will make a deal very soon because the studio is booked this summer [for the recording of the next album].' RUNEMAGICK have completed eight full songs for the forthcoming CD, tentatively titled Revelation Of Darkness, and have several instrumental parts and lyrics to complete before entering the studio. SOUL EMBRACED, featuring LIVING SACRIFICE members Rocky Gray (guitar) and Lance Garvin (drums),have signed with Solid State Records, who have issued the group's For The Incomplete CD, a collection of seven brand new tracks and four tracks off their indie EP, all re-mastered for optimum quality. SLIPKNOT have cancelled their five-date May US mini-tour, reportedly to accommodate the filming schedule for the Rollerball movie remake, in which they are set to make an appearance. The band have no plans to alter their upcoming European touring trek.
