Sweden's DIST 2001 Festival, which was scheduled to take place July 20-21 and was set to feature live appearances from IN FLAMES, DARK TRANQUILLITY, THE CROWN and EVERGREY (among others),has been cancelled. According to the festival's organizers, the cancellation is due to several reasons, including a 'lack of interest from visitors at similar events during the spring. This is a fact that is hard to ignore! Second, organizational problems within the festival management. We have experienced problems to find the right people for the right issues. Last, it should be fun to organize an event especially if it is on voluntary basis. The last month has been a hell since we have experienced several problems and we did not see the light at the end of the tunnel. The decision was not easy to take, but we believe that it will turn out well for everyone at the end.'
