March 4, 2001New York 's DOG EAT DOG have been busy writing and rehearsing new material, and will be going into the studio at the end of March to start recording new songs for an as-yet-undetermined new label ('a major', according to bassist Dave Neabore) following the group's split with Roadrunner Records. Among the tracks set to be recorded is 'Weekender', which is being described as a 'real DED party song'. In the meantime, the band have announced a couple of upcoming European festival and club dates. The shows confirmed so far are:

In related news, a new project by the name of ALL BORO KINGS has been formed, consisting of Dave Neabore (DED bass, vocals),Dan Nastasi (ex-DED / MUCKY PUP guitar, vocals) Sean Kilkenny (DED guitar, vocals) and drummer John Milnes (ex-TRACY BONHAM / THE BLOODHOUND GANG). A five-song demo was recently recorded, featuring such cuts as 'Twist The Cap', 'Just For The Fun Of It', 'The Party's On', 'King Of The World' and 'It's All Good'. 
DEF LEPPARD have reportedly written six new songs for the band's upcoming tenth studio album, due to be recorded later in the year. Pro-Tools software will be used for recording, so there is a possibility that the individual members will record some of their parts at home, using their own computers. The band has also met up with several producers during the past couple of weeks to discuss the possibility of doing certain tracks with different people manning the boards. DEF LEPPARD will get back together in late March for more writing sessions.

In other LEPPARD news, the script for the upcoming DEF LEPPARD movie is still being written, with vocalist Joe Elliott serving as a so-called 'script doctor' on behalf of the band, his primary role being to check the story for factual errors (for example, the first draft of the script had Phil Collen being in the group already during the High 'N' Dry tour). Casting for the movie will begin this week and broadcast has now been scheduled for the end of the year.

According to the UK's Metal Hammer magazine, exact details of the UK leg of the Big Day Out festival, which GUNS N' ROSES are believed to be headlining, are still to be confirmed.
Japanese guitarist Tak Yonemochi's band AIR PAVILION are currently in Los Angeles working on new material with ex-RATT bassist Juan Croucier handling production duties. Guest vocalists on the album include Don Dokken and L.A. GUNS' Phil Lewis.
An eight-disc YNGWIE MALMSTEEN box set is currently being compiled in Japan, with the working title of Archives. It will feature the albums Seventh Sign, I Can't Wait (mini-LP),Magnum Opus, Inspiration, Facing The Animal, Live, Concerto Suite For Electric Guitar And Orchestra: Millennium, and Alchemy. Also included will be two DVDs containing Live At Budokan '94 and Live '98.
Finland's ENTWINE, a musical cross between H.I.M. and SENTENCED, have announced a few upcoming live dates on their home turf:
