San Francisco, CA (03/04/01)- Jerry Cantrell has now confirmed 18 North American tour dates beginning March 13 in San Francisco and wrapping up April 5 in Oklahoma City. The ALICE IN CHAINS guitarist has again chosen San Francisco's SWARM and L.A.'s COMES WITH THE FALL to support him on this tour, two unsigned bands that Cantrell has been actively supporting.

...

SWARM was born from the ashes of DEATH ANGEL, one of the most influential heavy metal bands to come out of the San Francisco Bay Area. DEATH ANGEL, formed as a thrash metal band when the members were very young teens (drummer Andy Galeon was only nine years old),released two successful independent albums before a tour with MOTORHEAD led to the band signing with Geffen Records and releasing the highly-acclaimed rock album Act III in 1990.

...

A bus crash while touring to promote the album derailed the group, and due to the severity of injuries, the band went on an unplanned hiatus. During this time, vocalist Mark Osegueda left the band. The remaining members of DEATH ANGEL then formed THE ORGANIZATION, with guitarist Rob Cavestany taking over lead vocals. In the next 3 years, the 'O' went on to record 2 full-length albums and toured the United States and Europe extensively. In the late 1990's, Rob, Andy, and Mark recruited bassist Michael Isaiah to form the band SWARM.

...

Jerry Cantrell began actively championing their cause when the guitarist moved to San Francisco last year. He made his post-hiatus debut with SWARM and COMES WITH THE FALL, another band that had caught his eye, at a Bay Area nightclub in January. He's performed all five of his shows since with that line-up.&nbsp

...

COMES WITH THE FALL are an Atlanta band that relocated to Los Angeles last year and have one self-released album under their belts. Cantrell, when missing his own regular bandmates (drummer Mike Bordin and Rob Trujillo are currently writing and recording with OZZY OSBOURNE),taps the talents of CWTF's Bevan Davies and Adam Stanger.

...

Cantrell is touring in advance of his recently-completed new album, Degradation Trip, Vol. 1 and 2, a double-CD produced by Toby Wright that's currently being shopped to labels after Cantrell's long-standing relationship with Sony expired last year. Bordin, formerly with FAITH NO MORE and an occasional OZZY OSBOURNE and KORN fill-in, along with bassist Robert Trujillo, another OZZY sideman, are the players on the new album. Joining them on the road will be M.I.R.V. guitarist Brian Kehoe, and most likely an as-yet-unnamed back-up singer.
