LIMP BIZKIT guitarist Wes Borland has expressed interest in doing an album of “ambient”, “relaxing” music with brother Scott and BIG DUMB FACE bandmate Kyle Weeks. According to Borland, the instrumental set will include 'samples, live drums … electronic ambient. In the APHEX TWINS or FUTURE SOUNDS OF LONDON vein, but slower, more sound-scapey.'


Due to “ridiculous demand” for tickets for the 2001 - A Metal Odyssey festival stop in London, UK, this show has now been moved upstairs from the Mean Fiddler

In a statement, PANTERA drummer Vinnie Paul offered that 'we wanted to kick off the summer with a little metal madness of our own. Being Texas boys, we know how brutal the outdoors can be once June rolls around. We figured our fans are ready for a little evening excitement without any humidity other than the heat they'll generate all on their own.'

Sweden's CENTINEX have signed a multi-album deal with the UK's Candlelight Records. The group's forthcoming full-length album, titled Diabolical Desolation, will be recorded at Black Lounge Studios during July. In the meantime, CENTINEX's Hellbrigade CD will be released in the US through WW III Records on May 8th.


San Francisco Bay Area's M.I.R.V. have been added to the second leg of the ongoing JERRY CANTRELL (ALICE IN CHAINS) tour, which also features THE SWARM (comprised of ex-DEATH ANGEL members) and COMES WITH THE FALL. As previously reported, M.I.R.V. guitarist Brian Kehoe is part of Cantrell's backing band and will presumably be doing double-duty on guitar at the upcoming shows.

NOSTRADAMUS, guitarist Nikolo Kotzev's rock opera about the famous Michel de Nostredame, will be released through Germany's SPV Records in Europe on May 21st. The Japanese release date is set for April 5th, while the American details are still being worked out. Nostradamus will be released on a double CD and will contain more than 100 minutes of music, featuring a 35-piece symphonic orchestra along with a hard rock band and the following seven singers:

Former ACCEPT / RUNNING WILD drummer Stefan Schwarzmann has joined Germany's VOICE. The group's third full-length CD, Golden Signs, will be released through AFM Records on June 18th.


Germany's SQUEALER are currently in the studio recording their as-yet-untitled sixth studio album, which is tentatively due to be released at the end of August. While awaiting the album's release, SQUEALER will be partaking in some European festivals, including the Bang Your Head festival on June 29th and 30th alongside JUDAS PRIEST, SAVATAGE, STRATOVARIUS, KREATOR, MEGADETH and others.


EDGUY's forthcoming studio album, tentatively titled Mandrake, is scheduled for a late September release.
