AREA 54 In Mixing Mode

July 30, 2006

Frontman Lakis Kyriacou of the British melodic metal act AREA 54 has issued the following update on the band's current activities:

"After two years of trying to get things back on track in my personal life and in AREA 54, I am very happy to say that AREA 54 have started mixing the new album, and everything is coming together! It's a different album from the previous two albums, and I think it shows a slighty more mature side to us, as well as the performance blasting the other albums away, but people shall be able to judge for themselves soon enough, with any luck! We will be auditioning bass players for another week or so, so anyone interested in playing with us should contact Lakis on: [email protected]."

AREA 54's as-yet-untitled third album is tentatively due later in the year. Songtitles set to appear on the CD include "My Hate" and "Losing Grip".

AREA 54's sophomore full-length effort, "Beckoning of the End", was released in April 2003 through Casket Records. The album, which was produced by Dave Chang, featured a guest appearance from ex-AT THE GATES/THE CROWN vocalist Tomas Lindberg. The band were previously signed to Dreamcatcher Records.
