ARMORED SAINT/FATES WARNING Bassist JOEY VERA: New Solo Album Samples Available

May 10, 2006

Bassist Joey Vera (ARMORED SAINT, FATES WARNING, ANTHRAX) has uploaded a three-minute audio file containing samples from his upcoming solo album, tentatively due later in the year. The audio trailer, which Vera says contains "a glimpse into what I've been doing for the past 11 months," features "selections from what are still 'rough mixes' but I thought I'd let you hear them anyway," he writes on his web site. Download the wave file at this location (3 MB).

Joey Vera's upcoming solo album will be the follow-up to "A Thousand Faces", which came out in 1994. "After ARMORED SAINT broke up in 1992, I began writing for no apparent reason and I ended up with a mixed collection of songs which are here on this record," Joey said of his solo debut. "The style of music varies from song to song. I play the majority of the instruments and sing most lead vocals. The song 'Replacing You' features John Bush [ARMORED SAINT, ANTHRAX] on lead vocals."

ARMORED SAINT have announced a number of European festival and headline appearances set for June and July. Included are the band's first dates in the U.K. since 1991 and their first-ever appearances in Ireland and Scotland. In addition, ARMORED SAINT will be playing select dates in California, including teaming up with DEATH ANGEL and FLOTSAM AND JETSAM for a special show at the House Of Blues in West Hollywood on Friday, July 7.

ARMORED SAINT last performed live on July 30, 2005 at the Dodge Theater in Phoenix, Arizona as the opening act for the SCORPIONS. It is not presently clear if plans exist for the group to begin work on a new studio album. The group's last CD, "Revelation", came out in 2000 on the Metal Blade label.
