AS I LAY DYING: 'Confined' Video To Receive 'Headbanger's Ball' Premiere

June 2, 2005

AS I LAY DYING's video for the song "Confined" will make its world premier Saturday, June 4 on MTV2's "Headbanger's Ball".

This grueling video shoot was documented in the late hours of 4:00 p.m. until 4:00 a.m. at the abandoned Tustin Air Base in Tustin, CA. The clip was directed by Chris Sims, who has previously worked on videos for LAMB OF GOD, NORMA JEAN and ZAO, among others. Check out pictures from the video shoot at this location.

Commented AS I LAY DYING vocalist Tim Lambesis: "It was great working with Chris Sims. When we saw the rain machines, wind machine, and the lightning flashes, we knew the video would turn out killer. And although we got soaked, due to the 8,000 gallons of water dumped on us during the shoot, [and] we had to run to the heaters in between takes to keep from getting sick, it was well worth it for a video that came out this amazing!"

"Confined" comes off the group's forthcoming sophomore release, "Shadows Are Security", due June 14 via Metal Blade Records.

Regarding the new CD, Lambesis recently told MTV.com, "Last time we were a little bit rushed and, being a new band, budget was always an issue. This time around, we were able to do what we wanted. There are natural progressions in the way we play our instruments: Jordan [Mancino], believe it or not, has somehow gotten better at drums, and I think the guitars are quite a bit more technical. The biggest focus, on my end, was the arrangement of the songs. Because the material was a little more technical; there was a lot more melody to it. I wanted to make sure it was still very memorable, and arrangements are a big part of that."
