ASHBA: 'It Would Be Awesome' For Classic GUNS N' ROSES Lineup To Reunite At ROCK HALL Induction

March 22, 2012

GUNS N' ROSES and SIXX: A.M. guitarist DJ Ashba took part in an online video chat with his fans this past Tuesday, March 20. You can now watch the entire 28-minute question-and-answer session below.

When asked about GUNS N' ROSES' upcoming induction into the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame, Ashba said, "The one thing I don't understand about the Hall Of Fame is nobody's fucking talking, nobody's talking about it. I just don't, I don't get it. In my opinion, I think it's a huge honor. I think it would be awesome to see, you know, everybody [from the classic GUNS N' ROSES lineup] get up on stage and put all the differences aside for one night and just give the fans what they want. To me, that makes the most sense. But I have no idea what's gonna go down, because there has been zero talk about it so far. I wish I could tell you more. Whatever happens, that night's gonna be exciting. I'm anxious to see what happens.

As previously reported, Slash has officially stated that GUNS N' ROSES will not perform at its induction into the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame on April 14 in Cleveland. Speaking with QMI Agency, Slash said, "We're not playing. I would imagine that they asked us to play but I know that we're not playing." While the guitarist confirmed that he would attend the ceremony, adding that he was also positive that original drummer Steven Adler "wouldn't miss it," he was less sure about the other original members, including singer Axl Rose. Slash simply said, "I would assume [he would attend], but we haven't talked about it."

Slash's comments will now seemingly put to rest speculation that began almost as soon as the band was shortlisted for induction late last year.

Slash and Axl have not performed together onstage since 1993, the last time that most of the "classic" lineup of GUNS N' ROSES toured as a unit.

While the presenters for the other inductees — which include the BEASTIE BOYS, the RED HOT CHILI PEPPERS, DONOVAN, and the FACES — have been confirmed, it has not yet been announced who will induct GN'R into the Hall.
