ASPHYX To Enter Studio In November

October 14, 2015

Dutch doom/death metal veterans ASPHYX will enter the studio at the end of November to begin recording their new album for an early 2016 release. The band's vocalist, Martin Van Drunen, says: "Lots of tracks are composed and arranged already and we have tons of shredding riffs on the shelves to complete the rest of the album. It will all be in the good old-fashioned ASPHYX death/doom style, so be sure no one will be disappointed. Do we need to say we want to bring out that coming epic old-school beast as soon as possible? Whatever happens, 2016 will be a good metal year already, that's an ASPHYX guarantee!"

ASPHYX's latest album, "Deathhammer", entered the German Media Control chart at position No. 67. The CD was released in February 2012 via Century Media Records.

The "Deathhammer" video can be seen below. The clip was filmed by Maurice Swinkels of Younique Film, who had previously worked with the band on the bonus DVD for the "Death...The Brutal Way" album as well as on clips for such other groups as EXODUS, MASTERPLAN and KATAKLYSM.

Recorded at The Mörser Studio as well as at Harrow Studio with ASPHYX's longtime engineer Harry Wijering, "Deathhammer" was mixed and mastered in Sweden by Dan Swanö, who previously worked with the band on "Death…The Brutal Way" and "Live Death Doom" releases.
