ASTRAL DOORS: New Album 'Sounds Awesome'

May 27, 2007

Swedish metallers ASTRAL DOORS, who feature in their ranks LION'S SHARE vocalist Patrik Johansson, have issued the following update:

"We are at the end of the mixing process [for the new ASTRAL DOORS album] and it sounds awesome. Peter Tägtgren [mixer; PAIN, HYPOCRISY] has made a great job so far so we don't have to kill him this time either. Mastering will take place at Tailor Maid Productions in the beginning of June to make it sound even better. That's [the] purpose of mastering you know. We have a title for the album but we keep it to ourselves for a while. At this very moment the cover art is taking form. We have given the artist free [rein] so we have no idea how it will end up but we are sure it will be great."

ASTRAL DOORS' third album, "Astralism", was re-released in August 2006 as a digipack, featuring a newly written bonus track, entitled "21st Century Medieval". "The sound on the album has been polished and has been remastered by a profesional," the band previously wrote on its web site. "This is how it was meant to sound from the beginning. Sounds insane but the first version slipped through without our approval. If we've had the last word the first version would never been released, that's for sure."

"Astralism" was originally released in March 2006 via Locomotive Music. The CD is described by the band as "another slab of old-school hard rock with a touch of metal — something you can't help loving."
