AT THE GATES Launches U.S. Tour Diary

July 11, 2008

Reunited Swedish metallers AT THE GATES have updated their MySpace page with the first part of their U.S. tour diary.

Guitarist Anders Björler writes: "We arrived this Tuesday in New York. I got in to JFK and took the bus across town to meet the other guys at Newark airport.

Our sound engineer Bo missed his connecting flight out of Amsterdam, and on top of that his bag was A.W.O.L upon arrival in JFK. And if that wasn't enough, he got an ear infection resulting in high fever, massive pain and distorted mono hearing. He seemed slightly better today. Got his bag from the airport and everything, but he's still feeling pretty shit."

Vocalist Tomas Lindberg adds, "The first two gigs at Irving Plaza [in New York City] were amazing. It was great to see the other bands on the bill [DARKEST HOUR, MUNICIPAL WASTE and TOXIC HOLOCAUST] enjoying some great crowd response, It was my impression that all bands have had really good gigs so far. The first gig was without AC, so it was like 120 degrees on stage.

"We are enjoying this tour a lot so far, and it's amazing to see the crowd response after 12 years of silence.

"Thanks to all the people coming out and making this a special event."
