ATARGATIS Parts Ways With Guitarist, Seeks Replacement
March 29, 2009German female-fronted symphonic dark gothic metal heroes ATARGATIS have parted ways with guitarist Maximilian Schulz due to "personal and musical differences." A temporary replacement has been recruited in the shape of the band's former axeman Azmo.
ATARGATIS says in a statement, "We are now looking for a creative guitarist who is dedicated, has got semi-professional ambitions, who can identify with our music and is willing to focus on ATARGATIS and our music.
"If you are interested and feel that this applies to you, don't hesitate to send us your application (preferably including a photograph, information about your musical background and audio samples): [email protected]."
ATARGATIS has commenced the songwriting sessions for its third album, tentatively due late 2009/early 2010 via Massacre Records.
Fan-filmed video footage of ATARGATIS' performance at last year's Metal Female Voices Fest, which was held on October 18-19, 2008 in Wieze, Belgium, can be viewed below (clip uploaded by "kravmagiczka").
ATARGATIS' latest CD, "Nova", features a guest appearance by Matthias Hechler (Matze) from the German gothic metal heroes CREMATORY. Released on November 16, 2007 via Massacre Records, the CD was recorded and produced at the Helion Studios (DARKSEED, EQUILIBRIUM) in Munich, Germany. The complete layout and design was created by Katja Piolka (PRIMAL FEAR, RAGE, LEAVES' EYES, DESTRUCTION). In addition to the cover design, the band worked with Katja Piolka on their promo pictures. "Nova" contains ten songs, including a cover of ARMY OF LOVERS' "Crucified". The CD is also available in digipack format (including two exclusive bonus tracks).
