ATHEIST Drummer's GNOSTIC Project To Perform At South Carolina's S.C.U.M FEST

September 22, 2006

Hot on the trail of this summer's festival reunion touring success of ATHEIST (with monumental performances at Wacken Open Air [Germany], Bloodstock [U.K.], Hole in the Sky [Norway], and Evolution Fest [Italy]),drummer Steve Flynn — along with ATHEIST guitar duo Sonny Carson and Chris Baker — will debut their new band GNOSTIC live on October 14 as the headliner of this year's S.C.U.M Fest 2006 in Columbia, South Carolina. Sixteen of the southern region's best metal bands will also be performing.

GNOSTIC is receiving rave reviews for its 2006 demo, "Isolate Gravity", featuring extremely technical, ferocious riffing and extraordinary talents of Flynn. The band has signed on with ATHEIST singer Kelly Shaefer's new label, Starrfactory Records, to begin work on its debut album, which should surface in early 2007.

"GNOSTIC will continue in the ATHEIST tradition of making music characterized by insane, orchestrated, technical death metal with no boundaries and brutal riffs," says Shaefer.
