ATREYU Frontman Likes To Keep Things Short And To The Point

Launch Radio Networks reports: With a song climbing the rock radio chart and a second stage co-headlining spot on this summer's Ozzfest, now is the perfect time for ATREYU to release its third album, "A Death-Grip On Yesterday". The nine-song, 33-minute disc arrives in stores today (Tuesday, March 28) and lead singer Alex Varkatzas told Launch he doesn't mind keeping things short and to the point. "I mean, I grew up listening to records that were under 35 minutes long, you know what I mean, like the SEX PISTOLS, like, GREEN DAY had short records, like, RANCID's records were short," he explained. "Punk records are short. That's kind of what we come from, you know, in a way. So that's what we grew up listening to. So I mean, to me, like, I don't bat an eye. All nine songs I love and I would like to play."

The first single from "A Death-Grip On Yesterday" is called "Ex's And Oh's".

The album follows up the group's 2002 release, "The Curse".

The Orange County, California band is currently on the Taste Of Chaos tour, which hits San Jose in the group's home state tonight.
