AUDIOSLAVE Guitarist To Produce ANTI-FLAG

March 31, 2003

Former RAGE AGAINST THE MACHINE and current AUDIOSLAVE guitarist Tom Morello is collaborating with ANTI-FLAG as the executive producer of their upcoming CD, tentatively due in October through Fat Wreck Chords.

Morello's production assistance "has been an incredible source of ideas and inspiration," ANTI-FLAG vocalist/guitarist Justin Sane told Alternative Press. "He's definitely inspired us to try some new things. We're trying to be innovative ideologically, so let's also try to be innovative musically."

The Pittsburgh band's sixth album of politically charged punk will be energized by social as well as musical change. "We want this record to be a catalyst for the downfall of nationalism," Sane said. "Even patriotism and exploitative capitalism. It's incredible to me — especially now that ANTI-FLAG has traveled all over the world — they're great kids, they're just like us."
