AUDIOSLAVE Singer CHRIS CORNELL Sues Ex-Wife: Court Document Available

TMZ.com is reporting that AUDIOSLAVE frontman Chris Cornell is suing his ex-wife, Susan Silver, alleging she conspired to divert money that belonged to Cornell to other SOUNDGARDEN band members. The lawsuit also claims that Silver held his library of music, lyrics and two Grammys hostage.

The suit charges that Silver, who managed Cornell's previous band, is trying to cash in on SOUNDGARDEN, in part out of "personal animus" for [Cornell].

The couple married in 1990. They separated 12 years later, then divorced.

Cornell alleges Silver has a "desire to harm [him], which has apparently emanated at least in part from the dissolution of their personal relationship, and her incentive to further her career by maximizing the interests of other SOUNDGARDEN members." Cornell says Silver's actions were willful, intentional, malicious and despicable.

In the lawsuit, Cornell says his damages exceed $1 million. He is also seeking punitive damages.

Chris has a one-year-old daughter named Toni from his current wife, Vicky. The couple is expecting their second child.
