AUGUST BURNS RED Begins Recording New Album

February 24, 2009

Lancaster, Pennsylvania-based Christian metalcore quintet AUGUST BURNS RED's steady climb up the ranks of metal's future pioneers began with an auspicious start via the release of 2007's "Messengers", an album which not only debuted at number 81 on the Billboard Top 200, but has gone on to sell 76,000+ copies since its release.

Even as AUGUST BURNS RED celebrates its breakthrough with the release of a collection of B-sides and Outtakes from the "Messengers" sessions entitled "Lost Messengers: The Outtakes" — in stores February 24 — the band simultaneously looks forward as it begins recording the as-yet-untitled third full-length album with producer Jason Suecof, the man behind the curtain of heralded albums by bands like SEVENDUST, ALL THAT REMAINS, GOD FORBID and TRIVIUM.

ABR prepared "Lost Messengers" as a record for the diehard fans, a mix of new songs, cover songs (such as the band's well-known take on "Carol Of The Bells", which was utilized heavily in television and online spots for Frank Miller's ("300", "Sin City") film "The Spirit" and unheard production demos, all wrapped up in a package containing hand-written notes from the band explaining the thought process and/or lyrical content behind each song, further personalizing the connection between band and fan.

With its next full-length release, AUGUST BURNS RED looks forward to welcoming even more friends and listeners into the fold. To that end, AUGUST BURNS RED is currently streaming behind-the-scenes goings-on as it records its new album at Suecof's AudioHammer studio in Orlando, Florida.
