AUTOPSY's ERIC CUTLER Joins SCOLEX

January 14, 2014

San Francisco Bay Area death/doom outfit SCOLEX has merged forces with legendary death metal guitarist Eric Cutler of AUTOPSY. The newly formed lineup's initial goals include writing and recording a full-length album, to be released later this year.

SCOLEX was formed in 2010 by bassist Erika Osterhout drummer/vocalist Justin Green. In 2011, the duo recorded a four-song demo entitled "Torn From Beyond" with guest lead guitarist Danny Coralles (AUTOPSY). The demo was pressed and released as a 12-inch EP in January of 2013 on Osterhout's own Lunar Tomb Records. SCOLEX promptly recruited lead guitarists Yusef Wallace and Dylan Burton, then proceeded to play select dates in and around America's Pacific Northwest. In the fall of 2013, Wallace stepped down from the lineup and Burton remained to handle all six-string duties. By December, Burton resigned, leaving the original duo without a guitarist. On January 1, 2014, fortunes changed dramatically with the official addition of Cutler on lead guitar.
