AVA INFERI Books Studio Time For New CD
November 28, 2006Portugese metallers AVA INFERI are currently working on the material for their second full-length album, "The Silhouette", tentatively due next year via Season of Mist. The band has issued the following update on the songwriting/recording process for the new CD:
"Finally the studio has been selected and reserved. Where you ask? Norway once again, temptingly writing 'of course.' This time we move slightly southwards (the previous studio session was held two hours north of Oslo),and to [be] more specific, Gjerstad. A small village about three hours driving from Oslo and two hours from Kristiansand, the capital of 'Sørlandet.' The studio, Mølla (Norwegian for 'mill') is owned and run by Mr. Knut Valle, probably better known for handling the guitar-duties in ARCTURUS. Other bands recorded here lists among others ULVER, FLEURETY and ARCTURUS, to mention a few. We are in good hands, I dare write.
"And I must say that once again the location couldnt be better for the band. As I previously mentioned, the studio is located in a mill, which means that the water literally runs underneath the house. And out looking through the windows, the roars of the waterfalls and the majestic sights of the Norwegian dramatic nature's what greets you. Enchanting. Guaranteed rewarding. I also believe that the songs itself will be touched by this overwhelming focal point of the elements.
"OK, enough rambling anyway. As for the scheduled time period I can reveal that the two first weeks of March, and also the second week of April are highlighted in the calendar. The sessions will go on until...we are finished. It will also be mixed and mastered at the same location. Top-notch equipment all the way. Usually, albums come out 3-4 months after the delivery of the master tape. This should lead us to believe that it will be an late August release or so, maybe sooner. Hang in there.
"It is with great enthusiasm we announce these rather small yet binding news, as the band now feels ready to take the next step...the most important in its almost two-year history. There is something out there for us...we all feel that.
"Until then, we will make sure the material is waterproof. Ah, getting late, I sense..."
