AVATAR To Begin Recording New Album This Week
June 7, 2009Swedish metallers AVATAR will enter the studio tomorrow (Monday, June 8 to begin recording their third album for a late 2009 release. In a May 14 online posting, the band stated about the songwriting process for the new CD, "We do now have a total of 13 songs written, polished, perfected, demo-recorded.. Two of the songs are using the same verse so one of them has to go away, which makes it 12.. and then one or two will probably fall out after recording, which often happens of several reasons; It might be hard to find a good spot for it on the album or some part of it turns out to not be as good as it was intended to be. But since we have written the best album in the world, I don't think this might be a risk."
AVATAR's latest album, entitled "Schlacht", was released on October 24, 2007 via Gain Records. The group started recording the follow-up to 2006's "Thoughts of No Tomorrow" in May 2007.
