AVENGED SEVENFOLD: Footage From Key Club 'Halloween' Concert Available
October 25, 2007AVENGED SEVENFOLD played a free concert at the Key Club in Hollywood, California on Saturday, October 20. Fans were asked to come to the Key Club show dressed in a Halloween costume in order to get in. The show was taped and three songs can now be viewed below.
AVENGED SEVENFOLD new self-titled album can be streamed in its entirety on MTV's The Leak at this location. Due on October 30, the CD follows up 2005's "City of Evil". It will arrive as both a standard CD and an interactive MVI disc.
AVENGED SEVENFOLD has scheduled a CD-release party on Friday, October 26 at the Slidebar in Fullerton, California. "There will be no admission (but you do have to be 21+)," said vocalist M. Shadows. "We'll be there celebrating the release of the record, and we may just play a few tunes for you all. Some come hang out and we'll celebrate together. Should be a night to remember!"
AVENGED SEVENFOLD is giving fans a chance to create their own guitar solo for the band's latest single, "Almost Easy". Anyone who pre-orders the group's new self-titled album or buys it after it comes out on October 30 at the iTunes store will receive a bonus "jam-along" version of the track minus guitarist Synyster Gates' solo. Fans can then devise their own solo and upload it at AvengedSevenfold.com. The solo picked by Gates as the best will earn the winner a Synyster Gates signature model guitar from Schecter Guitar Research, autographed by the entire band, along with a pair of tickets to an upcoming show where they will meet AVENGED SEVENFOLD.
Lead vocalist M. Shadows told The Pulse of Radio that the band felt "Almost Easy" would set itself apart from other rock tracks as soon as it got on the radio. "Musically, it's just bad-ass," he said. "Like, we wanted to go with the first single being something that was gonna kick ass on the radio and didn't sound like anything else out there and kind of set us apart. Everything's so formula, and what we like about this song is not formula at all. But it's still somehow under four minutes, we've got two guitar solos in there, a guitar intro, a great bridge, bad-ass chorus and some slamming riffs."
