AVIAN: Recording Lineup For New Album Revealed

November 16, 2007

AVIAN, the melodic metal band featuring singer Lance King (BALANCE OF POWER, PYRAMAZE) and guitarist Yan Leviathan, is hard at work on its new album, "Ashes and Madness", tentatively due in early 2008.

Commented Yan: "Well, all of the guitars are pretty much done, Bill Hudson [CELLADOR] did a phenomenal job with the solos; can't wait for you all to hear 'em. I took all of the tracks over to Lance's today and now he can begin to do his parts. We are on schedule for a mid-December finish at which point we'll go to work on finding the best possible label home.

"Here's the recording lineup as it will appear on the CD:

Lance King - Vocals, Keys
Yan Leviathan - Guitars, Bass
Jerry B - Drums
Bill Hudson - All Guitar Solos

"To those of you that are unaware; David Ellefson [ex-MEGADETH] will not appear on this CD. I very much wanted him to return but unfortunately (for me) he wanted to concentrate on his other projects. All of us in AVIAN want to thank him for everything he's done to help AVIAN get on the map, so to speak. We all wish him and his family nothing but the best!"

Bill Hudson previously stated about his collaboration with AVIAN: "I was really honored when Yan e-mailed me and asked if I'd like to play in it, because not only do I think they're a great band, but I also have two VERY good friends in it: Jonah Weingarten (PYRAMAZE) and Lance King. On top of that, they had David Ellefson (former bass player in MEGADETH) on the first album.

"We played a show together a year ago or something like that (CELLADOR, AVIAN, GAMMA RAY),and their set was just amazing! What a great voice Lance has!

"Yan sent me a CD a couple of months ago with all of the demos so I could kinda come up with my stuff (though I'm ALL about improvising) and when I heard it I'm like, 'Holy shit, dude, you managed to write a better record than the previous one! I'm definitely in!'"

According to the group, "Mattias Norén [EPICA, EVERGREY, INTO ETERNITY] has once again handled all of the art duties and he has done a killer job constructing a visually stunning 16-page booklet."

Yan Leviathan assembled AVIAN after being inspired by GAMMA RAY's performance at the ProgPower USA III festival.

AVIAN's debut album, "From the Depths of Time", was released in 2005.
