January 11, 2006

German axe hero AXEL RUDI PELL has been confirmed for this year's installment of the Bloodstock Festival, set to take place September 29-30 at the Assembly Rooms in Derbyshire, England. According to the festival organizers, "PELL is confirmed for the special guest slot to PRIMAL FEAR on Friday, September 29. In keeping with our philosophy of bringing some of the best European bands to the U.K. for their first BIG shows, this show will be their first in the U.K." Also scheduled to perform at the festival are the reformed lineup of the classic U.K. thrash outfit ONSLAUGHT, MACHINE MEN, OMNIUM GATHERUM, DIED SMILING, ENEMY UNKNOWN, BEYOND AFTERLIFE and STEEL TORMENTOR. About 25 bands in total are expected to appear at the event.

The AXEL RUDI PELL band are scheduled to enter the studio later this month with co-producer and engineer Charlie Bauerfeind to begin recording their new album, tentatively due on June 2, 2006 via SPV Records. The band's most recent album, "Kings and Queens", was released in March 2004.
