AXIS OF JUSTICE To Stage Anti-War Protest Prior To AUDIOSLAVE Concert

May 19, 2005

Launch Radio Networks reports: Axis Of Justice, the political and social activist group founded by AUDIOSLAVE guitarist Tom Morello and SYSTEM OF A DOWN singer Serj Tankian, will stage an anti-war protest at the corner of Wilshire and Western Boulevards in Los Angeles this Friday, May 20 at 6:00 p.m. According to a posting at AUDIOSLAVE's website, Axis Of Justice has teamed up with Iraqi Veterans Against The War for the event, which will take place right before AUDIOSLAVE's show at the Wiltern Theatre.

Morello remains strongly opposed to the American occupation of Iraq and told Launch that he suspects much of the American public has gradually come to feel the same way. "You know, when you've got a president who's lying and deceiving the American people to achieve, you know, geopolitical ends halfway around the world that end up getting a lot of American and Iraqi kids killed, I believe that many Americans have this nagging suspicion that what's being foisted down their throat on the Fox News network may not be entirely the truth," he said.
