AXL ROSE's Private Space On Stage Shown For First Time

November 3, 2010

Swedish national TV station SVT has begun airing an eight-part series focusing on four Swedish festivals, including two episodes dedicated to this year's Sweden Rock Festival, which was held June 9-12 in Sölvesborg in southern Sweden. During the Sweden Rock portion of the program, which premiered last night (Tuesday, November 2),Tom Mayhue, GUNS N' ROSES' production manager, offered — for the first time ever — a tour of singer Axl Rose's private space on stage (featuring an oxygen and humidifier system, a television monitor and a microphone, among other items).

To watch the show — called "PSL", named after its host, Per Sinding-Larsen — go to this location. (Note: The Axl Rose private space is shown around the 16-minute mark.) You can also see the clip below.

In addition to sole original member Rose, the current lineup of GUNS N' ROSES includes guitarists DJ Ashba, Ron Thal and Richard Fortus, bassist Tommy Stinson, keyboardists Dizzy Reed and Chris Pitman and drummer Frank Ferrer.

GUNS N' ROSES' latest album, "Chinese Democracy", was released in November 2008 as a Best Buy exclusive, 17 years after the last all-original GUNS sets, "Use Your Illusion I" and "II". The album was a commercial disappointment, selling less than one million copies in the U.S. (according to Nielsen SoundScan) despite the long wait.
