BACKDRAFT Split With Singer, Seek Replacement
December 4, 2002Sweden's BACKDRAFT, who are described as a bland of "the best of LYNYRD SKYNYRD, ALLMAN BROTHERS and ZZ TOP," have fired singer Jonas Åhlén (a.k.a. Reverend Soarthroat) as a result of the rest of the band's "dissatisfaction with his contributions to the songwriting process," according to the group's official web site. "The slow pace and manner of our writing together has led to major differences in the band, and this was decided the only option to keep BACKDRAFT alive."
The band, whose "Here To Save You All" full-length debut will receive a U.S. release in January via the Abstract Sounds label, have cancelled all upcoming gigs in order to concentrate on finding a replacement singer and continue writing and rehearsing material for their sophomore album.
