BARRY SPARKS Skips 'Legends Of Rock' Tour Following Death In Family

November 18, 2002

Bassist Barry Sparks (DOKKEN, ULI JON ROTH) has been forced to cancel his participation in the Legends Of Rock tour in the UK following the death of his father.

The following is Barry's statement on the matter:

"My father has been very sick with asthma and heart problems," Sparks wrote on his official web site. "I left Uli's house and tried to get home as quick as possible, I made it to London... and of course missed the last flight to Los Angeles, so I checked into a hotel for the night, and at about two in the morning I found out that my father had just passed away. I, of course, was devastated. My Dad was my buddy and my biggest fan. I loved him dearly and will miss him forever. The next morning I hopped on a plane back home. The flight was, I guess, extra-grueling for this reason. My Dad was a very special man, he will be greatly missed by anyone who had the pleasure of knowing him. I love you Dad."
